Job Description
Role

Responsible for the sale of Newscom services to client publishers, media companies, digital enterprises and production companies. An outbound sales-driven position with a strategic focus. Responsible for building and maintaining customer satisfaction and product loyalty. Responsible for initiating and implementing programs to increase revenue from existing customers and building new customers.

Responsibilities
  • Initiate and implement strategic sales plans to increase revenue among customers within assigned territory and/or vertical market.
  • Develop objectives and implement action plans to meet sales objectives.
  • Perform frequent client visits and presentations and drive strategic discussions focused on delivering overall Newscom value proposition.
  • Execute client negotiations, pricing agreements and long-term customer servicing.
  • Identify potential revenue opportunities through aggressive outbound sales techniques that focus on new and emerging revenue streams.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports to Sales Director, which will provide information on sales activities, including the status of existing and prospective clients, status of current projects, qualified opportunity pipeline, sales objectives and action plans.
  • Work closely with marketing teams in overall execution of direct mail and e-mail campaigns and all client-focused initiatives.
  • Provide training and guidance to other sales team members as needed.
  • Provide demonstrations and training of Newscom to customers and prospective customers.
  • Initiate or assume responsibility for the completion of special projects as assigned.
  • Attend conferences and initiate site visits to customers to promote Newscom and its products.
  • Responsible for reviewing, authorizing and submitting legitimate credit requests to Sales Director for final approval.
Without the approval of the Sales Director, the Sales Executive may not deviate from approved rate structure, sign or negotiate contracts or authorize credits.

Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications or related field.
  • A minimum of five years experience in content or imagery licensing, syndicate sales, or equivalent related-experience.
  • Experience and/or education in media, with special emphasis in journalism, content licensing, and/or content management.
  • Strong forecasting, negotiating and outbound selling skills.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic selling and closing new business.
  • Excellent oral presentation and written communications skills.
  • Requires knowledge of the Internet, web browsers, Outlook, and other software programs.
  • Second language a plus.
  • Some travel inside and outside the United States required.
Budget/Revenue/Staff Responsibilities

Works under the general supervision of Sales Director. Communicates terms and conditions, pricing and other Newscom membership information to customers. Communicates client requirements and coordinates the processing of new customer applications, account changes and cancellations with administration department.

Improper decisions or inappropriate communication could result in loss of new clients, loss of existing clients and loss of revenue. Decisions have direct impact on the efficient operation of the sales department, and with other departments within the company. Professional relationships with colleagues and with clients enhances customers' image of Newscom.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Acquire, grow and maintain buying relationships with marketing, design, and creative departments of National Accounts to hit monthly revenue sales targets.

  • Superior prospecting, qualifying and sales abilities.

Responsibilities:
Stock Photography Sales
Help manage existing client needs, stock requests, research, sales, database and pro-actively market the Aurora Photos site and its photography in a variety of ways. Photographer Identification Communicate market needs and help identify the potential photographers that might meet those needs. Connect photographers to clients when necessary to facilitate stock sales or potential photo assignments.

Team Development
Participate in team meeting, paying special attention to aligning resources internally and assuring the smooth running of the processes and procedures that intersect with sales of outdoor imagery.

Process and Procedures
Work with others at Aurora Photos to facilitate accounting and tracking of invoices and maintenance of contact database.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of outdoor adventure and extreme sports industries.
  • 2-4years experience outbound and/or inbound sales or account management experience in the stock photo industry or the outdoor industry.
  • Proven consistent results meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong knowledge of Aurora Photos’ products and website.
  • Industry-related (stock photography, publishing, marketing or advertising) experience preferred.
  • Revenue focus: motivated to grow client base and billing.
  • Relationship building: able to build rapport with client contacts. Understand their business direction & short/ medium term needs.
  • Account development: find opportunities to grow accounts within outdoor sector. Has in depth knowledge and established relationships in outdoor industry.
